Mass interconnect systems are used in test and measurement engineering to test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronically assembled units.
They take the form of an interface between the device/unit under test (D/UUT) and the test instruments. The tester side (receiver) is coupled with the test adapter (ITA = Interchangeable Test Adapter) on the side under test.
The ODU‐MAC® Black‐Line mass interconnect solution is particularly flexible due to its modular system.
You can choose from a variety of modules for signals, power, high current, high voltage, RF signals (coax), compressed air and fluid, vacuum, high-speed data and fibre optics. Our range also includes PCB termination modules. The modules can be replaced at any time thanks to tool-free clip-in assembly and disassembly. This makes it easy to create customised solutions for your test requirements.
The application possibilities of the ODU‐MAC® Black‐Line are manifold – you can choose between a hand lever and an electromechanical variant.
The mechanical version of the ODU‐MAC® Black‐Line with hand lever matches the standard, tried‐and‐tested designs already on the market. The receiver and adapter sides are interconnected by means of the hand lever and the tensioning mechanism. The fact that is done by simply pressing a button means that our innovative, electromechanical locking system can be automated via remote control or integrated into an inline tester. This system also takes up less room and thus allows an optimal use of space.
This mass interconnect solution convinces with 12 individual floating docking frames, which ensure a smooth mating process. Each of the 12 integrable frames is also fitted with guiding pins and bearings that allow +/– 0.6 mm of radial play.
Eight tightening points ensure even tensioning and a secure and reliable connection. They prevent frame deformation and enable consistent quality for 20,000 mating cycles and more.
The ODU‐MAC® Black‐Line is available in two sizes – three or five height units. The larger version can accommodate up to 4,608 signal contacts. This is made possible by the compact design of the signal blocks and the high packing density of the modules.
A patented quick‐lock system lets you quickly lock and unlock the individual frames. The docking frames or signal blocks can be detached as required within a few seconds.
On request, we can provide a system solution including cable assembly. This ensures that your mass interconnect interface is ready for immediate use. In addition, you benefit from having one point of contact at ODU throughout your project. We offer four types of termination technology for the contacts: crimping, soldering, PCB/print and wire wrap.
