For long distances
USB-C® offers the possibility of supplying systems with power and data via a small interface. The high data rates enable the transmission of uncompressed video signals and are used in a variety of applications.
However, the connections are severely limited in their maximum length and can only maintain the high data rates over a few meters.
ODU offers a solution that compensates for the weaknesses of USB-C® technology with the strengths of data transmission via fiber optics. The combination of the standardized USB-C® interface with ODU's robust Expanded Beam Performance fiber optic technology enables high data rates over long distances. The fiber optic interface has two additional contacts to transmit the required current. The system solution is hardly susceptible to signal interference caused by mechanical stress or environmental influences.
