Trend Markets in Medical Technology | Part 1: Sensor Technology

Mühldorf am Inn, June 10, 2020

Sensors are increasingly being used to provide values and data for improved patient monitoring. A well‐known example is the SPO2 sensor, which measures the oxygen saturation in the blood.

What kind of connectors are needed for sensors of this kind? Particularly in operating theaters, the connectors are repeatedly disconnected from the respective devices, e. g., for cleaning. This means they must be robust, reliable, and of high quality.

The ODU solution: Circular connectors with push‐pull locking (ODU MINI‐SNAP® or ODU MEDI‐SNAP®) or break-away function (ODU MINI‐MED®) ensure constant data transmission whenever you need it. Many customers who need hybrid connectors, that can also transmit fiber-optic signals or fluids opt for a solution based on the ODU-MAC® Connector range.
