ODU MEDI‐SNAP® is a highly reliable German‐engineered plastic circular connector. The different sizes 1, 2 and 3,5 are characterized by robust plastic housings with different surfaces, push‐pull and break‐away locking and various transmission options. ODU MEDI‐SNAP® connectors are characterized by a wide range of connection options that allow the necessary flexibility and easy installation.
The ODU MEDI‐SNAP® uses PEEK and PBT insulator material for the standard. Other materials are available upon request. The ODU MEDI‐SNAP® connector housings are made of PSU or PEI. We use gold plated brass contacts.
The temperature range of ODU MEDI‐SNAP® under normal conditions of use is from –50 °C up to +120 °C, while autoclavable connectors can even be used at temperatures up to +134 °C. See the catalogue for further details.
ODU MEDI‐SNAP® is the ideal self‐locking circular connector used for transmitting power, signals, data or other media like fluids. This circular connector has a robust plastic housing.
The push‐pull locking prevents unintentional unmating until you want the connection to be released: once mated, the ODU MEDI‐SNAP® locks itself into the receptacle. It can no longer be unmated by just pulling the cable. The plug can however easily be unmated from the receptacle when the outer sleeve is pulled back. For applications, whenever a quick and easy connection and disconnection is required, the MEDI‐SNAP® portfolio offers a range of connectors with break‐away locking system as well.
Which sizes and designs are available?
The ODU MEDI‐SNAP® is available in a wide range of sizes and designs. You can choose from different mechanical and colour based codings.
Is cable assembly possible?
We also offer a complete solution: Connector plus cable. ODU has the suitable cable assembly, whether as a standard version or customized to meet specific requirements. We design, manufacture and assemble these products in‐house.
Because of their versatility and autoclavability, the ODU MEDI‐SNAP® connectors are used in a wide range of applications such as medical technology, test & measurement technology, and industrial electronics.
A mating cycle consists of one insertion and withdrawal action. ODU’s MEDI‐SNAP® series withstands up to 5,000 mating cycles, depending on the configuration.
The ODU MEDI-SNAP® circular plastic connector portfolio includes two series: Push-Pull and Break-Away which differ from each other depending on the physical locking method of the plug with the receptacle. Environmental requirements also play an important role when selecting the optimal ODU MEDI-SNAP® connector.
An easy way to select the best connector for your application is to compare different options and order a free sample in our Product Finder. Alternatively, you can contact your local point of sale or ask for assistance with the selection process. We are happy to help.
